Sales Forecast Calculator

This sales forecast calculator estimates how much pipeline may close in your chosen period. You set each probability and scenario change.

It measures weighted pipeline expected in a selected period, three user-controlled scenarios, and the base gap to target.

Enter the revenue target for the forecast period.

Enter the number of days in the period you want to forecast.

Enter early-stage pipeline that could close in this period.

Enter middle-stage pipeline that could close in this period.

Enter late-stage pipeline that could close in this period.

Formula and assumptions

How this calculation works

Only pipeline that could close in the selected period belongs here. Scenario changes add or subtract percentage points from each entered stage probability, then stay within 0% and 100%.

  • Weighted forecast = sum of each stage value × its probability
  • Scenario forecast = sum of each stage value × its visitor-adjusted probability
  • Gap = greater of zero or target minus base weighted forecast

It does not prove what will close. It does not add hidden stage probabilities or industry rates.

Fictional aggregate example

Fictional aggregate example

This made-up forecast shows the math. It does not promise that revenue will close.

Made-up inputs

  • $100,000 target for a 90-day period
  • $80,000 at 20%, $60,000 at 50%, and $40,000 at 80%
  • Conservative change of -10 points and optimistic change of 10 points

Example result

  • $78,000 base forecast
  • $60,000 conservative and $96,000 optimistic
  • $22,000 base gap

Questions

sales forecast calculator FAQ

How is this different from the pipeline calculator?

This page estimates revenue that may close in a chosen period. The pipeline calculator checks current coverage against a target.

Does Vellward set the stage probabilities?

No. Every probability and scenario change comes from you.

What happens if an adjusted probability goes outside 0% to 100%?

The calculator keeps that scenario probability within the valid range and shows a note.
