Quota Attainment Calculator
This quota attainment calculator shows your progress toward a sales quota. It also estimates the pace and deal count needed for the time left.
It measures quota attainment, remaining revenue, current and required run rates, and rough deal and qualified-opportunity counts.
Formula and assumptions
How this calculation works
The calculator uses the period, deal value, and win rate you enter. It cannot calculate a rate when its time value is zero, or opportunity need when win rate is zero.
Attainment = closed revenue ÷ quotaRemaining gap = greater of zero or quota minus closed revenueCurrent run rate = closed revenue ÷ time elapsedRequired run rate = remaining gap ÷ time remainingRequired deals = remaining gap ÷ average deal valueRequired opportunities = required deals ÷ win rate
A quota gap alone does not prove a follow-up problem. The estimates do not promise that the gap will close.
Fictional aggregate example
Fictional aggregate example
This made-up quota case is a scenario estimate. It does not prove a follow-up problem or promise attainment.
Made-up inputs
- $100,000 quota and $40,000 closed
- 60 days elapsed and 30 days left
- $10,000 average deal value and 25% win rate
Example result
- 40% attainment and a $60,000 gap
- $2,000 required daily run rate
- Six deals or about 24 qualified opportunities
Questions
quota attainment calculator FAQ
What is quota attainment?
It is closed revenue divided by the full quota for the same period.
Why are required deals and opportunities approximate?
They use average deal value and win rate. Real deals can have different values and outcomes.
Does a quota gap mean follow-up is the cause?
No. A gap can have many causes. The Vellward bridge appears only when pipeline and a capacity limit are both present.
