Sales Capacity Calculator
This sales capacity calculator shows how much follow-up work your sales cases need. It keeps preparation time separate from human review time.
It measures preparation work, approval work, sustainable weekly case capacity, backlog change, and full-time work equivalent.
Formula and assumptions
How this calculation works
The calculator applies the same review count and time assumptions to each new case. It reserves available time for non-delegable human review before showing the remaining preparation gap. Backlog-clearance time appears only when spare capacity can reduce the existing backlog.
Preparation minutes per case = reviews per case × preparation minutesApproval minutes per case = reviews per case × approval minutesTotal minutes per case = preparation minutes per case + approval minutes per caseSustainable cases = available weekly minutes ÷ total minutes per caseWeekly backlog growth = greater of zero or new cases minus sustainable casesFull-time work equivalent = required weekly hours ÷ 40Human-review gap = approval hours minus available hours, with a zero minimumPreparation gap = preparation hours minus the hours left after human review, with a zero minimum
It does not prove that a capacity gap caused lost sales. It does not choose a response or next step for any lead.
Fictional aggregate example
Fictional aggregate example
This made-up workload has no clearance time because the backlog grows under these assumptions.
Made-up inputs
- 20 new cases each week
- Three reviews per case
- 15 preparation minutes and five approval minutes per review
- 12 available hours, zero active cases, and 10 cases already waiting
Example result
- 15 preparation hours and five human-review hours
- 12 sustainable cases
- Eight more backlog cases each week
Questions
sales capacity calculator FAQ
Why split preparation and human review?
They are different work. One gathers context and prepares the case. A person still reviews and approves it.
When does backlog-clearance time appear?
It appears only when weekly capacity is higher than new weekly case volume.
Does Vellward send follow-up on its own?
No. Vellward prepares the next step for human review. Nothing is sent or promised without approval.
